HoP Africa between the 6th and 7th of June 2022 in collaboration with the GIZ, held a step-down MOET training with women farmers in Fan district of Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The Training which spanned two days equipped the women with knowledge on concepts and principles of good Agricultural practices; Best practices in production planning, best practices in production activities, pest and disease management and best harvest practices as well as post-harvest management and transportation. The training also covered topics and principles of Farmers Business school like the concept of business and farming as a business, record keeping, farm measurements, diversification to earn more income, ensuring food security for your household, Risk management, getting good financial services, financial management and benefits of belonging to a farmers group.
The training was a huge success due to the level of receptibility of the women and their level of engagement with the training content.
The Project was closely supervised by the GIZ and we appreciate the GIZ Nigeria for providing the platform and technical support for us to implement this project.
